Nest Renew: What is the Energy Impact Program (EIP) and How Does It Work?

Published on 25 Feb 2023 / In Electronics & Communication TV Commercials

Climate change affects us all, but not equally.

Too often, low-income communities and communities of color face the most severe impacts of extreme weather, yet they are often given the least resources to prepare for and adapt to it.

That’s why Nest Renew introduced the Energy Impact Program – an initiative to help those disproportionately impacted by climate change and systemic injustice.

Here’s how it works:

Whenever you use Nest Renew¹ features, you earn Leafs to help track your ongoing positive impact. When you collect enough Leafs to reach a milestone, you can then extend your impact even further by helping direct Nest Renew funds to our nonprofit partners.

These funds are used to support a growing range of programs, from retrofitting affordable housing to help lower bills and emissions, to scholarships supporting career training and job opportunities in the clean energy industry.

So as we transition to a carbon-free electric grid, initiatives like the Energy Impact Program can help us work together to build this new energy economy in a way that’s just and equitable for all.
